Post subject:  Contacting Athena requesting composer information

Well, I sent an e-mail to Athena Co. Japan requesting composer information from all of the Mahjong Games. Not the most professional way of asking, but hopefully we will get answers.

Subject: Pro Mahjong Kiwame Series question

"From, I am working on a project but I have hit a
tremendous roadblock in finding composer information for your past
games, namely from your Pro Mahjong Kiwame series of games.
Fans and
me likewise are curious if by any chance you have music composer
records pertaining to your games and are willing to share them with the
video-game game music community.

Games that I am requesting composer info for:

Game Boy/Game Boy Color
Pro Mahjong Kiwame GB
Pro Mahjong Kiwame GB II
Ide Yosuke Mahjong Classroom

Super Famicom
Pro Mahjong Kiwame
Pro Mahjong Kiwame II
Pro Mahjong Kiwame III

Thank you for your time."

Until I figure out this problem we are unlikely to hear back from Athena.

Edit: I tried sending them the same message with my Yahoo account and it returned with the same error. Could be a case of shitty IP (archaic and dumb) detection in which I may have to fiddle with Japanese proxies to send my line of inquiry.

EDIT: Guess I'm going to have to mail them a letter requesting game composer information.

Athena is such a small company only ever carrying a maximum of 40 employees, so I have research to come with all of the known Athena music composers; Tsugutoshi Goto, Koichi Ishibashi, Akiyoshi Saito, Kazuo Oikawa, Hitoshi Nishimura and Aka Ishibashi. But still we don't know who composed for the Pro Mahjong Trilogy even with the style of music from some of the composers being nearly identical, confirming who did what is required.

I tried contacting HAL Laboratory, asking them who composed some certain games on the Famicom and they told me they weren't able to give me that information since the composers resigned, so you probably won't be able to get that information anyway if you were able to contact them. I know of a couple composers that worked on their NES games.
