* This subforum is where incomplete SPC sets should be uploaded. If you've started a set, and for whatever reason are unable to finish it, or are unsure of its completeness, post it here. This subforum is not intended for conversation, however.

* If you wish to pick up one of these sets, please make a post claiming it, to prevent others from duplicating your work.

* You may upload full SPC sets in .rsn, .zip, ,rar, or .7z format. Individual SPCs should only be uploaded if it is the only song you've dumped from that game.

* Do not upload anything that is not SPC-related, or it will be deleted. We are not handling MP3s, PSFs, USFs, GSFs, or any other format at this time.

Need help with the titles. Set ripped from the games sound test, which does have titles, unfortunately in japanese. Screenshots included, matching 1-1 with the spc.

captainhydao has a knack for translating Japanese titles, and I've worked with him before.

There are three music composers from the ROM text, none of them which match the one you have (that person's not even found in the staff roll!). They are Masaki Tanimoto, Masanaga Matsuoka, and Shingo Shimizu.

Sound tests are not always complete... so I invented a music modifier. Your SPC set is certified complete by me (there are no more new tracks).

Super Wrestle Angel
Title Screen Music Modifier
81E0CCxx
The range is 00-19. The game crashes after 19.

Want a music modifier for a particular SNES game? All you need to do is ask via PM (or you can check out the Music Modifiers topic and post there) and I'll be on the job. ^_^

Here are the few I'm able to read (I don't know Japanese, but I can read English words/names in katakana). The [something]s are kanji, etc.

01: Opening
02: Title
03: Menu
06: Kotobuki [something]
08: COM Gym [something] (I think)
09: COM Match Make
11: Battle 1
12: Battle 2
13: Battle 3
14: Vacation (is what Google tells me)
15: [something] & Scout
18: Sign [something]
19: Ex Tag [something]
25: Ending 1
26: Ending 2

edit: added the few English ones just for completion

Another detail with the game, is that ripping this one first note, resulted in incomplete samples. thankfully, there were commands I could write, to restart track from the beginning, and commands to stop the track. I combined the two, such, that the track is stopped, and the command that starts the track is written on load. :) From that, this is certified by me to be not missing any notes. :).

And yeah, the initial motivation, was from the listing in Noriyuki Iwadare's official page. I most definitely wonder why its listed there, if he is not listed in the credits in the rom text.

Meh... I never played this game before... but hmmm, it's interesting, because it's part of a series of wrestling games... bishoujo and stuff...

I just created the Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Wrestle_Angels

About the translations, well, since I didn't play the game (yet)... but...

女子 (じょし) - woman
あおぞら - blue sky
ラサール - seems to be a place?
ことぶき - long life/congratulations (depending on context?)
ぷるぷる - soft/jiggly/malleable
思考(しこう) - thoughts (perhaps 'jimu' is actually 'Jim'? I don't know the context though)

試合 (しあい) - match/game
バカンス - vacancy/free spot
新人募集 (しんじんぼしゅう) - recruitment
怪我&入院 (けが&にゅういん) - injury and hospitalisation
サイン会 (サインかい) - autograph session
要請 (ようせい) - request/demand
失恋 (しつれん) - unrequited love
殴り込み(なぐりこみ) - the raid
金くれ、おやじ (かねくれ、おやじ) - sort of impolite 'give me money, old man'? possibly referring to a father
勝利 (しょうり) - victory
決算 (けっさん) - settlement

well, phew, the translation is kinda done, I think. I will play the game when I have time.

My little method of circumnavigating that problem would be to play the music twice: once for it to load, twice to dump it complete (or as close to complete as possible).

You're one of the masters of hacking the SPC files, and it's been quite a while since I last saw you! ^_^ The other one that I can think of is Revenant, and he invented a patch for Universal Soldier. I invented the music modifier to go with that game as well.

My way of hacking SPC files, if I have to, is a lot more experimental. Typically I hack to get rid of SFX (I no longer see a real need to do this unless I really have to) or to correct volume problems with the SPC sets. I was responsible for correcting volume problems with Adventures of Dr. Franken, Dragon's Lair, some of the Bitmasters games, and some of the Visual Concept/Brian Schmidt games (Madden NFL Series, except for '96, was volume problematic to some extent).

And as for the music modifiers themselves, usually I can just hunt down hits for $2140 and backtrack from there. Sometimes the music is a direct hit on $2140-2143. Typically I score big in Title Screen music modifiers, but sometimes I end up finding universal music modifiers. And there are cases in which you have to use pointers just to find them (if that happens, typically that means I have to do "safe-cracking" to find those values... all I have to do is look up all hits for the music routine and retrieve the values that way. Sometimes I can find a header that remains constant and attempt to find unused tunes. I successfully got away with finding unused music twice when I had to do safe-cracking: Marko's Magic Football and Pro Quarterback.).

Actually, I can determine if a track is truly unused by looking for hits for cueing the music. I did this for Mega Man's Soccer, and although not unused, it was locked away. Once I found it, with JLukas' help, the full ending was found, and the staff roll was also found. The staff roll requires hacking regardless of case, because it requires a playable Dr. Wily, and the ending goes to a cast roll, then to the Presented by Capcom screen... and you can't exit from there. I found the ending for Corn Buster the same way, which does have a staff roll at the end which isn't visible in the ROM text.
