Forum rules

* This subforum is simply for the uploading of new SPC sets. Updates should go in the "Updated Sets" subforum, and conversations should be kept to other subforums, unless they directly relate to a submission.

* You may upload full SPC sets in .rsn, .zip, .rar, or .7z format. Do not upload each SPC individually.

* New sets should ideally be fully timed, tagged, and put in order, either via a soundtrack, or in a logical in-game ordering. Submissions lacking this info will not necessarily be rejected, but may take longer to appear on the site. Sets without track titles, however, will be rejected on the spot.

* Do not upload anything that is not SPC-related, or it will be deleted. We are not handling MP3s, PSFs, USFs, GSFs, or any other format at this time.

Note: If a submission thread is locked, it means it has been accepted, prepped, and will appear on the site during the next update.

Presenting what is without a doubt the most awful renditions of Turrican music in existence. Fully tagged, except for timers. Titles are from the Turrican 2 soundtrack, track order is from the Genesis version.

Thanks to KungFuFurby for the music modifier.

Do yourself a favor and listen to the Amiga originals instead:

Go for the Gunhed is actually not unused: it's the first level music. Here's my two cents with timing and putting that so-called unused track in its right place. I used an array (which is basically level ordering) to rearrange the first few tracks after the Title Screen (Desert Rocks and Unidirectional Flight were swapped in level ordering), as I myself played through two levels (I never completed the second because I didn't know how to complete it). Just out of curiosity: did you use the Genesis version when ordering the music?

Chances are the reason why the music is like this is memory limitations, or most of it was reserved for all of the sound effects (the vocals were actually kept in there)... or the echo... or a combination of both. There are a few pieces of music that are pretty long, so that could have had an effect. This is the only SNES game that was done by The Code Monkeys.

You know something? Maybe there's a reason why Super Turrican came out and not this game.

File comment: Added timing and did some reordering near the top of the tracklist.

Yeah, I was using the Genesis .vgms as a base, since I didn't know how they were actually in the game. I thought Gunhed was probably unused because it was that way in the Genesis version (along with several more Turrican 2 tracks) and I didn't think there were any differences music-wise between the two, apart from the SNES version having much fewer tracks.

Thanks for clearing that up and for timing them :D

edit: minor thing - Shouldn't the Publisher field say Accolade and not Ballistics?

There's a reason why I don't look up other versions when doing the track ordering and/or identification. Here's how I know about the level ordering:

First, here's the code that looks up the array to start with (it scores a direct hit with the music modifier):

AE 06 03 BD 3C 86 C2 20 8D 34 03

The array is located at $063C in the ROM and it contains these values (there's at least one of these per level):

09 00 0A 02 03 01 08 04 05 06 07

I've already played through the first two levels, which played tune IDs 09 and 00, so I know this is definitely a level array... hence the reason why I did the reordering.

As for the publisher field... well, the opening logo says Ballistics (it's a "label" of Accolade)... so I guess it could be both. I also did this with WarpSpeed.
