Hello everybody! Sorry for the five year delay between new SPC sets from me...
I am making a comeback by doing something completely unheard of in SPC hacking: taking a sound driver that streams its music, porting the SNES-side code to the SPC700, removing its dependencies on reading the I/O registers (which means breaking loops), adjusting the timers to account for the SNES sending note data to the SPC700 at the NTSC frame rate, then hijacking some I/O register reads that deal with commands and using my own custom routine (that uses the code I ported over to the SPC700) to fetch data.
I initially posted my attempt in the Help Wanted section. Well... just recently, I ran my attempt through the debugger, and discovered a bug in my execution code regarding delay values after they were processed: they accidentally triggered other commands that I did not mean to execute. I promptly corrected that.
