I know Audio Overload is the typical app for playing game music (non-arcade), but it hasn't been updated in years and lacks some of the recent driver updates (mostly on the Sega CD and PS1 sides). Also, despite being high quality, it's not 100% accurate; some songs don't play properly in it (McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure - world 2, for example).

I've tried Game Music Box and while its interface is bare bones, it's actually the most accurate I've used. Unfortunately, it never got updated to Universal status, meaning I can't use it in Lion.

I've also tried Cog, but much like AO, it hasn't been updated in a while. At least not official builds. There have been some experimental ones since then, but they still don't feature many of the formats that AO can play (notably, .vgm) and it doesn't support zipped/rar'd formats.

Is there anything else? Or have I pretty much exhausted all options for Mac?

Don't know if anybody is reading this, but there is now an Intel-friendly Game Music Box available: https://github.com/dgventura/gambl/ .
