Hello, I've been ripping some sounds and making sound fonts for a while but something that has eluded me is a SNES game that has a twangy, clean guitar sound, think old western movie intro or 80s chorused guitar. Can anyone think of a game that has this kind of sample?

There's a clean guitar about 17 seconds into the Dr. Wily stage 1 theme from Mega Man 7 (and possibly elsewhere in the same soundtrack, but I can't recall).

It's not quite as twangy as e.g. the SC-55 "clean guitar" patch or anything like that but it might work. It was actually a bit harder than I was expecting to find such a sound that wasn't either acoustic or not recognizably a guitar at all, though I didn't look too thoroughly.

Check the menu music for Super Bases Loaded. Is that what you're looking for? I think I have the keyboard with that patch (Korg M1) but I'm not sure.

I discovered the topic here and decided to go really obscure to get what I thought was the correct sample:

I picked two games that didn't even have SPC sets on SNESMusic.org as being the most likely to my ears (and thus provided an example .spc file for each). They were J.League '96 Dream Stadium and Nomark Baku Haitou. Nomark Baku Haitou was more likely to contain the sample my ears.

Also... Super Bases Loaded's menu music is really just a two channel sample (with similar pitches played next to each other).
