Forum rules

* This subforum is for the general discussion of video game soundtracks, and the uploading of emulated-game music formats, including, but not limited to SPC, SNSF, NSF, GBS, PSFs, USFs, GSFs, etc. as well as the respective format's mini*sf extension and files (*sflibs, etc.) required by the format are allowed to be posted here.

* Individual songs can be uploaded as-is, but full soundtracks should ideally be compressed either via .rar, .zip or .7z, or they will be subject to deletion. Subtune-based formats including, but not limited to NSF, GBS, SID, etc do not need to compressed due the nature of their small given size and direct portability.

* Do not upload anything that could be in violation of American copyright laws. Yes, they're silly, arcane, and draconian, but we'd really rather not have to deal with their over-zealous enforcers. This includes links to such files.

* No flaming, no direct attacks against other members, and no spamming. Such activity will not be tolerated. Users who fail to respect other member's rights will be warned, banned or any other action will be taken as required.

* The SNESMusic staff reserve the right to ban users, remove posted content not limited to illegal material, offensive content or any other content at their discretion.

So. Not uploading anything *yet*, but I plan to put all the *SF sets I retimed/retagged up here eventually. For now, just getting it set up, and listing what I've done for my own personal reference.

PSF/PSF2:
-Arc the Lad 2 (titles)
-Battle Hunter (timers)
-Brave Fencer Musashi (timers)
-Breath of Fire 3 (timers, plus minor tagging tweaks)
-Final Fantasy (timers)
-Final Fantasy 7 (timers)
-Final Fantasy 8 (timers)
-Final Fantasy 9 (timers)
-Final Fantasy 10 (timers)
-Kartia (tagging; identified most non-OST tracks)
-King's Field (I timed two of these; I forget which two, though. Need to double check)
-SimCity 2000 (titles, based on a soundtrack/gamerip I found somewhere)
-SaGa Frontier (timers)
-Xenogears (timers)

USF:
-Killer Instinct Gold (timers)
-Lode Runner 3D (timers)

And probably some other stuff I forget.

Since it's a soundtrack I happen to like, I decided to compare the Napple Tale "DSF" rip with the MP3s I have. I don't want to upload a 200+ meg archive just for track titles, so here's a list of what's what:

Thanks, updated both sets on the server. Not sure what gives with Napple Tale missing tracks, maybe I just missed them while ripping. The Wild Arms set could do with total reorder - switch from the current 1CD OST naming scheme to the newer 2CD version. Your contributions are appreciated either way, thanks again. :)

In the future, you can just post a rename batch file (text file with lines consisting of ren "original_filename" "updated_filename" lines), or better yet, DAT file generated with VGMToolbox.

Ahh, you mean this?

I wasn't aware of its existence until now, but I'll check it out and update the set accordingly.

As for the missing Napple Tale tracks... they're both just short jingles, so it's possible they could just be stored elsewhere. Possibly even as sound effects.

Done and done. Even updated the tags accordingly. Fortunately, the two-disc OST was easy to find. Two songs *still* missed an official release, but hey, at least we have rips of them.

Currently working on Megaman Anniversary Collection. Which isn't *hard*, but given how many tracks there are, it's a time-consuming effort.

BTW Knurek, could you upload the ending theme from Dragon Quest 8 (track 2-16) and the five Ar Tonelico 2 songs I mentioned in another post somewhere for me? I don't want to have to re-download the whole things for just a few songs. :P

Final Fantasy 7:
http://snesmusic.jukor.net/junk/FF7.rar

Final Fantasy 8:
http://snesmusic.jukor.net/junk/FF8.rar

Both retimed for the proper two loops, and the tagging and order slightly cleaned up. Uploaded without streamed tracks (in FF8's case), PSFLib files, and info files, to save space (I didn't touch them at all anyhow). I also included the FF7 demo tracks, because I retimed those as well (particularly the prelude remix, which wasn't even timed to a full *single* loop originally).

Observations on the FF7 PSF set I noticed when I retimed it:
-The main theme (first overworld theme) is, when looped twice, one of the longest songs in the series, at 11:22. In fact, that may be the single longest looping song in the entire series (provided you don't count FF6's Dancing Mad, which, being stored in-game as five separate songs, I don't).
-The third part of "The Mako Cannon Fires! ~ Shinra Explodes" is *not* actually missing from the set. It's simply a few seconds into the second part, and the new timer reflects that. I decided not to go with a "part 1", "part 2", etc. file scheme for that one and break them up into what they actually are.
-A few minor songs are missing: The endlessly looping intro of "Those Chosen by the Planet", played in Shinra Mansion, a clipped version of "The Highwind Takes to the Skies" played in the Mog House minigame (when Mog learns to fly), and an unused song present only within the Japanese version. I assume the first two were missed because the ripper assumed they were just duplicates, while the latter... well, the English version disc was clearly the one ripped, so no surprise there. I have no idea if anyone within the community can still rip PSFs, and they're certainly nothing major, but their omission bugs me. :P

Not much to say about the FF8 set except that the demo version of "The Landing" was included as a 9xx track instead of being worked into the order as a"x-xxb" track because, while the usage is the same, the two songs are completely different. Also, I think at least some of those "Chant" tracks are unused, as I don't recall hearing them all last time I played through FF8. Could be wrong, though. Trivia.

FF9 and 10 to come soon.

(Also: Track 24 from Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits wouldn't extract from the zip.)

Apparently, I lied. Here's SaGa Frontier. As usual, timers updated for two loops (which wasn't always easy... curse you, Ito, for your confusing loop points), and titles updated to reflect the English version. I wonder why in the world Lute's final battle theme wasn't ripped. Is it streamed? If so, *why*?
